Jakarta, 6 Desember 2023– PT Bank Permata Tbk ("PermataBank") strengthens its strategic cooperation with the Indonesian Export Financing Institution ("LPEI") through the signing of an extension of the Cooperation Agreement on December 6, 2023, in Jakarta. This collaboration includes Credit Guarantees and Joint Financing.

Present at the signing of this cooperation were the President Director of PermataBank, Meliza M. Rusli, and Director of PermataBank, Herwin Bustaman, representing PermataBank; and the Executive Director of Business Development at LPEI, Maqin U. Norhadi, and the Executive Director of Institutional Relations at LPEI, Chesna F. Anwar, representing LPEI. The signing was witnessed by the Executive Director of LPEI, Riyani Tirtoso, along with the management teams of PermataBank and LPEI. This cooperation is mutually beneficial and aimed at enhancing credit quality for exporters in Indonesia.

In her speech, Meliza M. Rusli, the President Director of PermataBank, stated, "The continuation of this collaboration represents our commitment to consistently expand segments and deepen relationships with customers through the PermataBank partner ecosystem. We also appreciate the trust of LPEI in making PermataBank a long-term partner in jointly contributing to the growth of Indonesia's economy, especially in the realm of exports."

Since 2019, PermataBank has collaborated with LPEI to provide Credit Guarantees for borrower facilities at PermataBank. Through National Export Financing, LPEI aims to accelerate the growth of Indonesia's foreign trade and enhance the competitiveness of businesses, supporting the government's policy to drive the national export program.

Riyani Tirtoso, the Executive Director of LPEI, explained, "This cooperation is expected to expand the reach and accessibility for Indonesian exporters in utilizing export facilities. We believe that what we initiate today, in the long run, LPEI together with PermataBank, can become one of the pioneering forces driving exports in Indonesia."

As a Special Mission Vehicle of the Indonesian Ministry of Finance, LPEI continues to actively promote national exports. LPEI holds sovereign status, enabling it to provide guarantees to banks with a zero percent Risk Weighted Asset (RWA) allocation, eliminating the need for Credit Concentration Risk. This reduces allocated costs, allowing PermataBank to offer more attractive prices to potential customers.

According to the 2022 Central Statistics Agency (BPS) data, Indonesia's exports to ASEAN countries reached USD 61.3 billion, with Thailand accounting for USD 8.1 billion or approximately 13.37% of total exports to ASEAN countries. Through this collaboration, PermataBank will gain access to exporters targeting Thailand and other ASEAN countries, thereby expanding its customer base and ultimately boosting Indonesia's exports to ASEAN.

PermataBank further solidifies its vision as a partner providing meaningful value to its customers. As part of Bangkok Bank and its international network in 15 ASEAN countries, PermataBank now has greater potential to support customer growth. This is supported by prioritizing three key strategies: creating a leading deposit and wealth franchise, becoming the preferred ecosystem partner for business players and technology, and being at the forefront of customer satisfaction in the banking industry.

In the Q3 2023 report, it was noted that the bank's loan disbursement over the first nine months of 2023 grew by 2.4% YoY to Rp138.9 trillion, with the majority contributed by Corporate Loan and Joint Financing.

In this collaboration, PermataBank is the first private bank to establish a Credit Guarantee cooperation with LPEI apart from HIMBARA (Association of State-Owned Banks).
