Jakarta, April 5, 2024 – Lembaga Pembiayaan Ekspor Indonesia (LPEI) / Indonesia Eximbank has successfully assisted 104 Indonesian exporters in securing new buyers from various countries, with business agreements valued at Rp1 billion. LPEI is driving a range of Indonesian products from fashion, home decor, furniture, food and beverages, to spice commodities to go global.

From January to March 2024, LPEI has conducted 14 business matching sessions, involving over 500 export-oriented SMEs with potential buyers from various countries, including Canada, the Netherlands, the United Arab Emirates, Germany, and Australia.

"We collaborate with Indonesian Trade Promotion Center (ITPC), Export Center Surabaya, and Indonesian Diaspora to facilitate SMEs in accessing global markets. This is part of LPEI's efforts to support the Government in increasing national exports," revealed Ilham Mustafa, Head of Consultancy Services Division at LPEI.

In addition to connect with international prospective buyers, LPEI also provides SMEs with insights and understanding about identifying new business opportunities and forming sustainable partnerships.

"Our primary goal is to empower SMEs to compete globally through foreign market expansion, enriching their experience in interacting with overseas buyers," Ilham added.

One of the SMEs that secured an international buyer for export is CV Sabila Multi Kreasindo, a home decor and craft producer from Magelang, Central Java. CV Sabila Multi Kreasindo successfully received a home decor order of one 20-feet container to the United States.

"Thankyou LPEI for facilitating the Business Matching with a buyer from the United States, allowing our product to penetrate that market," said CEO of CV Sabila Multi Kreasindo, Syarif Ihsanuddin. Alongside CV Sabila Multi Kreasindo, Unikayo, an SME from Payakumbuh, West Sumatra, successfully pushed its rendang product to go global during the business matching organized by LPEI. Laurencia De Richo, the owner, expressed gratitude for meeting LPEI, whose training and mentoring have helped realize her dream of entering the global market.

Unikayo is a culinary business from Payakumbuh, West Sumatra. Its main product is instant rendang seasoning (rendang paste) and various rendang ready-to-eat products, such as sliced beef rendang, oyster mushroom rendang, shredded rendang, and tuna fish rendang. In the business matching, Unikayo received a Pre-Order (PO) for 20 kilograms of instant rendang seasoning (rendang paste) to New Zealand.

"We are grateful to have met LPEI, which can nurture and guide SMEs to export. I personally experienced what it's like to be mentored by experienced export practitioners, accompanied throughout the offering process with prospective buyers, and even helped to find other potential buyers," concluded Laurencia.

This business matching event was also attended by representatives from various industry sectors, including manufacturing, agriculture, technology, and creative products. Participants are expected to make the most of this opportunity to expand their business networks and accelerate the growth of Indonesia's exports in the global market.
