LPEI and Asuransi Asei Indonesia Drive National Export Growth with Export Insurance

Jakarta, December 29th 2023 – Lembaga Pembiayaan Ekspor Indonesia and PT Asuransi Ekspor Indonesia (Persero) have strengthened strategic cooperation to drive national export growth through the provision of Co-insurance marine cargo facilities. The collaboration between LPEI and Asuransi Asei is an effort to strengthen the export ecosystem as well as concrete evidence of their commitment to supporting business actors to increase competitiveness and export market penetration.

This strategic cooperation is outlined in the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding for Business Activity Distribution and the Co-insurance Marine Cargo Cooperation Agreement between LPEI and Asuransi Asei today. Present the signing, LPEI's Director of Business Development, Maqin U. Norhadi, the President Director of Asuransi Asei, Achmad Sudiyar Dalimunthe, and the Technical Director of Asuransi Asei, Marah Kerma Manurung.

The collaboration between LPEI and Asuransi Asei is a synergy between government entities. LPEI, as a special mission vehicle under the Ministry of Finance of Indonesia, collaborates with Asuransi Asei, a subsidiary of PT Reasuransi Indonesia Utama (Persero) under the supervision of the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises.

Maqin U. Norhadi, LPEI's Director of Business Development, explains, "Supporting exporters through the Co-insurance Marine Cargo facility will encourage business actors not to fear exporting, thereby positively impacting the Indonesian economy through contributions in foreign exchange earnings, tax revenue, and providing a multiplier effect for domestic industries."

Achmad Sudiyar Dalimunthe, President Director of Asei, states, "This collaboration is expected to combine our capacities to boost national exports. Thank you LPEI for supporting Asuransi Asei. Hopefully, this is a good start to strengthen our cooperation so that we can play a role in advancing Indonesian exports."

As government agent for developing exports, Asuransi Asei Indonesia continuously strives to create an integrated export ecosystem. Asuransi Asei involves various parties such as the Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Trade, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, OJK, and business associations with the aim of creating synergy that provides security and comfort for exporters, from preparation to transactions abroad, utilizing export insurance mechanisms. Asuransi Asei hopes Indonesian exports can grow more rapidly, reducing doubts, and increasing exporters' confidence in international trade transactions.

This synergy is one way to provide protection to Indonesian exporters. Until November, 30th2023 the export insurance solutions provided by LPEI have reached Rp11 trillion through Trade Credit Insurance (TCI) and Marine Cargo Insurance (MCO) facilities.

LPEI committed to continuously collaborate with the export ecosystem to provide competitiveness to Indonesian exporters. Through these steps, LPEI hopes to continue supporting the growth and development of business actors, while increasing the country's foreign exchange.
